Agricultural Fair - Minister of Agriculture

Royal Agriculture, Fisheries, Tourism and Trade Show 2018

Friday Evening 

The Minister of Agriculture was the guest of honor on Friday evening. 

He was seated on a raised platform under a large tent with tapa cloths and weavings under him. The table beside him is where his food is served. A woman removed her shoes as she approached the mats then lowered herself as she approached the noble. She carried a container of food and placed it on the table. She returned again with a drink and then again with desserts.

The evening was full of activities. There was a magician which the children just loved. There were choirs, dancers, fashion show and more. We left about 9:30 pm and cars were backed up for miles heading to the Fair. I'm sure most of the vendors stayed all night as they celebrated and prepared their displays for the King who was coming on Saturday.

Elder Palmer and Elder Thomson sat in some chairs under the tent but separated from the Minister of Agriculture. They were offered dinner as well. It is very impolite to refuse the food. Good thing Elder Palmer enjoyed it. Chairs were brought over and placed in front of Elder Thomson and Elder Palmer to be used as tables for their food. Some of the other missionaries were on the opposite side and they were offered food as well. The chairs were red velvet with the royal insignia on them.
